If you have multiple computers and you are going to be printing documents, be it at home or in the office, then all you need is a single wireless printer. 1. Connection

The first thing which you need to know is that to connect the multiple commuters to a single wireless printer you need to have all the computer connected to a single connection.  You will need to create a single connection which will connect wirelessly to the printer and the computer. Creating of a connection is quite straightforward and you use a router which can wirelessly link all the computers to the printer.

  1. Drivers

To make a connection between the computers and the printer you need to make sure that the printer has the right drivers installed. In most of the cases, the drivers will come together with the printer. You can also go online if you are looking for more updated version of drivers. The process of installing the drivers is also easy because all one needs to do is for the on-screen prompt once the installation has begun.

  1. Operating systems

There are two main computer operating systems, Windows and Macintosh.  The setups are usually different because of the different manufacturer. It is then important to check which version of operating system that you have and whether it supports the connection of multiple computers. However today many of the version of the computer supports wireless connection as long you have the latest version of the operating system. One point to note is that in Windows, you need to check the “Devices and Printers” on the start menu and “share printer” on the individual computers. On a Macintosh, you need to check the “Print and Fax” option under the system preferences and check the “Share this printer”.

  1. Software

The next thing which you need to know is that there are software which you can purchase which can further expand the number of computers which you can connect to wireless. The good thing about this third-party software is that they can work any distance. The other advantage is that most software are compatible across different platforms meaning that it’s possible to use them on either Windows, Macintosh or Linux computers.

  1. Easy Configuration

The setup process is not as complicated as many people think. This is because all you may need is an internet connection which can be through a wireless internet connection or Bluetooth connection. The good thing is that most of the time the computer does not have to be on to be able to access the printer.
